Arguement for file sharing and piracy.

My understanding of the effects of piracy and file sharing is that it has been amalgamised in to a huge threat to our existing companies in which it is a great crime to commit and your stealing from the great, infact this untrue as  Piracy in a way is not techincally stealing as they are only copying the information provided by the company it isnt actually stealing an object or taking anything from anyone. Legally it is copyright infringement  in which has no connection at all with stealing or theft in any way. There is also the fact that people who do pirate never buy content, this has been  overruled with a recent study and the fact that people who download a lot of music do tend to also but alot of it after sampling or viewing in a poorer quality.

The file sharing can also give a chance for people to download music and make remixes and mashups of the songs therefore creating a new culture and a new wave in music evolution. Also the fact of the recent economic crisis students and younger generations dont have enough to pay for luxuries such as cds and recently there has been a law suit as 5 of the biggest music compaies were sued for price fixing on music, this making it harder for people to spare the money to fund the companies to have such a luxury as to listen to the latest music album.  So the fact we are stealing is meerly an excuse for companies losing money and in a way they are gaining promotion from piracy and file sharing and the fact that many people cant afford such luxuries provides those people with some entertainment in times of economic crisis where luxuries are minimal.
