I think that Hurtlocker should win the Oscars. The 2008 film blew me away with it’s insight in to the Iraq war and their Bomb Disposal Unit. Throughout the film you where on your edge of the seat where the team where in constant danger, from the beginning we were put in as part of the team and made to feel like we are on this journey with them. I feel Hurtlocker portrayed the events happening around us that often we are sheltered from or portrayed very different through the use of the media, the insight we were given illistrated the goings on in Iraq very well it gave us a slight incline in to what it is like for our armed services and special units out in iraq and the constant danger they put themselves in to. Not only does it give us an insight in to what our services are put through it has an underlying message of friendship, bonding, and teamwork that many people can learn a lesson from. All together this film and its messages really are an inspiration and something we can all learn from and for this reason should be awarded an Oscar.
As you can see from this clip it has great poignancy in the fact of the emotions involved within the Iraq war and how much war can affect someone and affect their dreams. It also shows the risks they take for their country and the friendship and trust that is built between the men that they confide their inner emotions, dreams and ambitions and how they seek and rely on others for the answers or to give them some direction in what to do.
